Mold Making
Osborne utilizes proprietary custom mold making and building techniques to create complex composite molds, capable of long production runs in both RTM and RIM molding. Our molds provide you with a fast and economical route to quality parts.
While open molding methods used by “hand-layup” and “chopper-gun” shops offer cheap tooling, they also contribute to lower part quality. Our two-piece closed composite molds quickly repay their higher initial cost through overwhelming part quality advantages. Using a solid-modeling CAD system, Osborne also provides prototype test molds, as well as machined aluminum molds for longer RTM and RIM molding service, if your application requires. The entire Osborne manufacturing facility features 24-hour fire protection to ensure the safety of our employees, molds, and materials. Patterns or “plugs” are housed in one of our off-site warehouses for even further fail-safe protection.
