What is a CNC machine?

What does a CNC machine do?
Preparing a mold or part for CNC machining services typically involves four main inputs: a skilled engineer or designer, CAD software such as SolidWorks™ (to design a part or mold), CAM software such as Mastercam™ (to develop the code for machining), and the CNC-router itself (to interpret and translate the machining code into automated tasks).
The five-axis CNC routers perform a multitude of automated tasks required to create patterns, molds, and secondary finishing tasks for custom-molded parts. Some tasks include:

- Machining
What materials are used with a CNC machine?
Traditionally, CNC machines can be used for various materials like metal, plastic, wood, ceramic, and composites.
